Keynote presentations by Hall of Fame leadership speaker and New York Times best-selling author Waldo Waldman and Jason Leverant, President and Chief Operating Officer of the AtWork Group, provided key takeaways on how to stay on top in today’s highly competitive world, particularly with the disruptions caused by ever-evolving technology. Greg Doersching, creator and owner of Bullseye Recruiter Training and president of Griffin Search Group, shared key insights on how recruiters can use storytelling to craft “attraction-based” job descriptions and perfect their candidate pitches. Emerson Nagle, Vice President and Managing Partner of KPG Provider Services, championed strategically re-thinking current industry mindsets and shared concrete suggestions for creating partnerships that will make a difference in your everyday professional experiences. Attendees in Jeff Freeman’s closing session walked away with tools to assess why employees stay or go and to identify and address lags in employee engagement as well as practical tactics to help select the right candidates for the right job—all gleaned from CompHealth’s experience using hiring and retention as building blocks for a great company culture. Convention attendees were the first to hear the results of the NAPR Industry Trends Survey, conducted in partnership with Staffing Industry Analysts (SIA) and sponsored by DocCafe.com and Wolters Kluwer. Amy Chang, SIA Healthcare Analyst, shared key findings from the survey’s executive summary:
The full report is available free of charge to recruitment organizations that completed the survey. NAPR member organizations who did not participate may purchase a copy of the survey for $299. Email [email protected] for more information. In addition to the educational sessions, this year’s Convention offered numerous opportunities to network , from a friendly golf tournament at Torrey Pines golf course to a new “Casino Night” event, where attendees enjoyed pasta, pizza and dessert while playing cards and rolling dice! In between, attendees participated in the second annual NAPR Gives Back event, where 200 hygiene kits were packed to benefit Veterans Village of San Diego; tapped into industry expertise at the exhibit hall opening reception; and leveraged the experience of their recruiter colleagues at “Networking with Purpose,” one of the Convention’s top-rated sessions. No convention recap would be complete without an update from the NAPR annual business meeting. The bylaws changes proposed by the NAPR Board of Directors were accepted as distributed. New officers were introduced:
The board recognized outgoing member Trey Smith for his service on the board and the four Vendor Partners who agreed to serve on NAPR’s inaugural Vendor Advisory Panel: DMD, DocCafe.com, Doximity and PracticeLink. In addition, several volunteer leaders were honored:
The board also recognized Sherrriff & Associates, Inc., for 35 years of membership. Next year’s convention will be held March 11-13, 2020, at the Tampa Marriott Waterside Hotel & Marina in Tampa, Florida. We look forward to seeing you all there!
